Rulani camp respond to contract details in court
DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA - AUGUST 23: Rhulani Mokwena, head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns during the DStv Premiership match between Richards Bay and Mamelodi Sundowns at King Zwelithini Stadium on August 23, 2023 in Durban, South Africa.
Mokwena's contract details with Sundowns became public knowledge on Monday after Pitso Mosimane's agency, MT Sports Marketing and Management, through their lawyers, subpoenaed the contract of the 37-year-old and that of senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi with the club, to the South Gauteng High Court. Although MT Sports do not dispute breach of contract, they have argued before the High Court that the claw-back clause on Mosimane's contract is discriminatory, as such a clause is not contained in the legal agreements between the club and Mokwena and Mngqithi's representatives, namely Kapeluschnik of JDR Consulting and Mike Makaab of ProSport International.
KickOff reached out to Kapeluschnik to get his stance after his legal and financial agreements with the club on behalf of Mokwena were brought to court.
