The Ibrox legend has real fears over the direction his club is headed
Ally McCoist insists there is a lack of leadership at Ibrox as he aimed a thinly-veiled swipe at former chief executive James Bisgrove and said the gaps in the stands of their temporary Hampden home is “not where Rangers should be”.
McCoist had been due to appear on talkSPORT the morning after their qualifying defeat to Dynamo Kyiv last week but was a no-show and said: “It wasn’t because I didn’t want to talk about the game but it was because of other ongoing circumstances which I won’t be telling you! The fact of the matter is Rangers aren’t a Champions League team at this moment in time.
And McCoist continued: “I’m genuinely devastated at what’s going on at my club. The recruitment, goalkeeper and Dujon Sterling aside, has been unbelievably poor. They have given money to people to spend who haven’t spent it wisely at all. We’re not even playing our home games at Ibrox now. I’ve seen it in the last couple of games - there’s big gaps at Hampden. That’s not where Rangers should be.
