Premier posted an open letter on the Globe and Mail website Tuesday explaining, in English, Quebec\u0027s views on the overload of asylum seekers.

In the letter, Legault notes that Trudeau’s 2017 tweet welcoming refugees has become a real problem for Quebec because the number of asylum seekers has exploded.and asking Trudeau to discuss the issue of the border with U.S. President Joe Biden when he meets him in March.responded, acknowledging the pressure that has been put on Quebec and Ontario in recent months. He said Ottawa is working with the other provinces to identify new temporary housing options for those arriving.
“I think it’s up to the federal government to ensure people who enter, with this federal border problem at Roxham … it’s up to them to reach agreements with the different provinces and ensure there is transport and that it be done correctly.”Article content
