Amid a post-Masters report linking McIlroy to LIV, the No. 2 player in the world clearly stated where he stood.
A post-Masters tournament report circulated overseas linking world No. 2 golfer Rory McIlroy to LIV Golf with an offer in the neighborhood of $850 million. McIlroy, who has long been a staunch critic of the breakaway tour, emphatically shut down the rumors on Tuesday in Hilton Head Island, S.C., the site of the RBC Heritage that begins on Thursday.
"I honestly don't know how these things get started," McIlroy said with a chuckle."I've never been offered a number from LIV and I've never contemplated going to LIV. I think I've made it clear over the past two years that I don't think it's something for me. ...My future is here on the PGA Tour and it's never been any different...I will play the PGA Tour for the rest of my career.
