Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is inducting Dolly Parton after she tried to 'respectfully bow out.'
Dolly Parton, despite her efforts to be removed from consideration, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“Each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock ‘n’ roll,” John Sykes, the chairman of the Rock Hall, said in a statement Wednesday. “Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right,” she wrote. “I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.”she would accept“It was always my belief that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was for people in rock music. I have found out lately it’s not necessarily that,” Parton said.
