RCSD educators are taking part in a symposium on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, geared towards rejuvenating and empowering them to support students, family and staff. is hosting a symposium Saturday morning to celebrate and empower classroom educators.
The symposium’s mission is to acknowledge, inspire, energize, and bridge connections among educators in the Rochester City School District, empowering them to support RCSD students, families, and staff. "Physical wellness, mental wellness, you know, it's a very challenging profession, and we really feel like its important to honor them and bring them together in a space to really celebrate them," said Ruth Turner, deputy superintendent, Rochester City School District.
Anderson Allen, a poet, actor, yoga teacher, mentor, and teaching artist in Rochester, is the symposium's keynote speaker. The workshops offered will focus on movement, art, collective grief, building connections, and incorporating mindfulness into education.
