The ECHO spoke to businesses on Park Road about how the area has changed.
The main road connects much of South Liverpool with the city centre and splits the L8 communities of Toxteth and Dingle. Once home to several pubs, the road now hosts a combination of independent shops and a handful of relatively new restaurants.
Specialising in the pastry dessert baklava, Kunafa House opened on Park Road last year, having moved from its previous Granby Street location. It is run by father and son team Mohamad and Alan Hasbiro, who moved to Liverpool a decade ago. "It's a good community to be a part of - it's diverse. Lodge Lane and Park Road have communities like this".
Joe Kenny shares Alan's view. Joe, 42, has owned JK Barber Shop on Park Road for 23 years and has witnessed plenty of change in that time."Town has expanded this way with the Baltic Triangle and it's coming this way to Park Road. It's been good to get the restaurants but we've got no bars down here - that could do well, like the likes of Allerton Road and Smithdown.
