Halifax Thunderbirds forward Chris Boushey dives to score one of his four goals Saturday night against the Albany FireWolves in National Lacrosse League action Saturday night in Albany, N.Y. - NATIONAL LACROSSE LEAGUESix weeks is a long time between home games. Just ask the Halifax Thunderbirds.
“It’s tough going six weeks without a home game,” Thunderbirds forward Chris Boushey said. “It’s kind of a weird spot with the Christmas break and the world juniors. “It’s good to get those away games out of the way early into the season. We have a majority of our home games toward the end of the season where we can ride that energy down the stretch. That actually might work out for us.”
“We can be a very scary team when all things are clicking. We only have a finite number of games in this league so every win, every loss can make or break a season.” The 30-year-old Staats, in his first season with the Thunderbirds after being acquired from Panther City in August, finished with two goals and seven assists. He has a team-leading 23 points, two back of NLL scoring leader Connor Fields of Rochester.
