Road to Qatar: What Bafana need against Ghana
On Thursday, South Africa’s 1-0 win over Zimbabwe put more pressure on Ghana, who are the only side in Group G that is mathematically still in contention for the final and third round of the African qualifiers.
Ghana on the other hand, can still go through with a 1-0 win over South Africa as this will equal the goal difference, as both teams have scored six goals. The Black Stars had taken an early lead in Soweto via a well-executed freekick by Andre Ayew, but the Walias equalised through captain Getaneh Kebede, who is familiar to South Africans following a spell in the PSL.
But yet another good shift put in by the defensive unit of Rushine De Reuck, Njabulo Ngcobo, Terence Mashego and Nyiko Mobbie ensured that Bafana preserved the narrow win.
