One £20 dress is still full price on the River Island website at £65 (contains affiliate links)
Shopping secondhand is a fashion trend that has grown in popularity in recent years, in part as a result of the cost of living crisis, but also because shoppers are becoming more eco-conscious with their wardrobes.
As part of its takeback scheme with Reskinned, the high street fashion retailer has set up an eBay shop which already has more than 700 pieces of clothing at a fraction of the original price.Among the secondhand styles are a pair of pink swirl print trousers with feather trims, which are priced at £18, despite still being full price on the River Island website for £45. Meanwhile, a green viscose dress with faux fur cuffs is £20, down from the RRP of £65 on the website.
The takeback scheme, in partnership with Reskinned, launched last year, and is now available in over 200 River Island stores. Reskinned specialises in reselling, reusing and recycling old clothes to prevent them ending up in landfill. Items are hand-checked and ozone-cleansed by Reskinned using a zero water, eco-friendly cleaning process. Shoppers will then have the opportunity to purchase these revamped, River Island styles via the eBay store.
