The UK has been experiencing double-digit price rises since the summer and the Prime Minister has promised he will halve inflation this year
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said: “While unemployment remains close to historic lows, rising prices continue to eat into pay cheques which is why halving inflation this year is one of our top economic priorities.”
Kate Nicholls of UKHospitality said: “Staff shortages have plagued the sector for years and the labour market now appears to have stagnated at the worst time for hospitality, with vacancies 48 per cent higher than pre-pandemic levels.
