, stop listening to “Little Lies” on repeat and look at the first trailer for Prime Video’s forthcomingadaptation. Based on the bestseller by Taylor Jenkins Reid , it stars Riley Keough as the front woman of the titular band, which—after a sold-out 1977 show at Chicago’s Soldier Field stadium—suddenly disbands forever without explanation.
Sam Claflin co-stars as Billy Dunne, a rock musician from Pittsburgh who starts a band, The Six, with his brother Graham , eventually landing a record deal alongside keyboardist Karen , bassist Eddie and drummer Warren . Supporting Billy’s tumultuous career? Girlfriend Camila , manager Rod and producer Teddy .
In the just-over-a-minute-long teaser, released on January 25, we see the band emerging from a private jet to greet cheering crowds, playing sell-out shows, trundling across the desert in an RV and slowly fracturing as Daisy and Billy’s burgeoning romance throws a wrench into his relationship with Camila.
Impressively, all of the cast members will be playing their own instruments in the show , with Blake Mills, a Lana del Rey collaborator, writing original music for the series, and a soundtrack due for release via Atlantic Records. Meanwhile, Denise Wingate – who toured with The Bangles – is heading up costumes, sourcing vintage from across the States for the cast.
