The meeting on Tuesday morning will involve Three Rivers District Council’s chief executive, senior Herts County Council staff and Rickmansworth Park JMI School’s Jane Linch. It comes after TRDC told the school to pay a “nominal charge” for maintenance as part of an agreement that sees areas of grass cut specifically for school sporting activities.to parents outlining how it has used the space free for 50 years and “strongly believes” that should continue.
Within hours of the school letter, parents had lashed out on social media branding the decision “shameful”, “disgraceful”, and “really terrible for the local children”. But TRDC claimed the school had “publicly, unfairly and with misinformation, attacked the council”, adding: “TRDC is not the local education authority – but it remains open and willing to help the school, however it cannot subsidise its sporting activities.”We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
