Trent Dilfer previews UAB's conference opener at Tulane.
UAB head coach Trent Dilfer addressed the media Monday as the Blazers open AAC play this week against Tulane at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2.Here is what Dilfer had to say in his weekly press conference:
-- Coming off a 49-21 loss to No. 1 Georgia, where UAB’s effort and competitiveness were much improved, Dilfer said only “small tweaks” are on the list and that the team is making a “shift in perception” heading into the program’s first AAC game at Tulane. -- The 11 a.m. CT kickoff should be no problem for UAB as the team switched to morning practices this season under Dilfer, who said the players “should wake up feeling as they normally would.”
-- Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt led the Green Wave to a Sugar Bowl win over USC last season but has missed time with injuries this season. He is expected to play this week and Dilfer says the “difference in them winning and losing is his ability to execute” on critical downs.
