Almost 30 years into the game, pop-rock band Garbage have still got it when it comes to stage persona and spirit
There’s many things that Manchester is known for, but a heatwave - both figuratively and literally - is perhaps not really one of them. But the atmosphere inside the Manchester Apollo on Friday night can quite frankly only be described as sweltering .
For me, as I imagine is also the case for a lot of other people in the crowd, Garbage have been a band that I have grown up with. In fact, the Manchester date comes just two days after the 26th anniversary of their performance of I Think I’m Paranoid on Top Of the Pops - the very appearance that first introduced me to them.
Shirley herself has no problem interacting with the crowd through the night - recalling stories of the band’s defiant spirit.
