Comedy comes on strong in awards at 2022 Toronto Fringe Festival
Comedy played a starring role in awards given to this year’s shows and performances at the Toronto Fringe Festival.
Patrons’ Picks winners are each awarded an extra performance this Sunday, July 17, the final day of the 12-day festival. See a full list of Patrons’ Picks shows and times“Don Valley Girls” was the Patrons’ Pick at Streetcar Crowsnest Guloien Theatre. It is also one of seven shows that share the David Seguin Memorial Award for Accessibility in the Arts, given to productions that feature the work of an artist or artists with a disability.
Chelsea Larkin’s “The Chels Stands Alone” won solo honours in the Comedy Bar and Second City Awards, and is one of two winners — along with “John Who” by Preamble Productions — of the North Best of the Fringe Award.
