Sir Keir Starmer appointed three non-MPs to his cabinet that will be given life peerages to serve in their new roles
Among the new faces who entered Starmer’s cabinet were three non-MPs who were given junior minister roles by the new Prime Minister.

Mr Timpson has also served as the chair of both the Employers Forum for Reducing Re-offending and the Prison Reform Trust, setting up the Employment Advisory Board network to create job opportunities for prison leavers across the country. “They get to that point in life where they just want a job and they don’t want to disappoint their family again.”
Mr Timpson was appointed as trustee of Tate by Boris Johnson in 2021 before taking on his new role as minister of state for prisons, parole and probationwent on to replace their counterparts in Government after Labour’s election win, this was not the case for Emily Thornberry, the former attorney general.
Mr Hermer served as an advisor for the Labour Party, offering his opinion on the legal implications of the Economic Activity of Public Bodies Bill last year.
