Rasmus Sandin peered into his crystal ball on Saturday morning and liked what he saw.

“I think so,” Sandin said. “I don’t think that’s what his main focus is right now, but I don’t see an ending for it, with how good he is playing.

“Great streak,” Stamkos said. “It’s so tough to be that consistent in this league. You look at what they’ve been able to do as a team during that streak too. Usually when you’re having success like that as a player and the team’s playing really well, it’s a really fun streak to be on.” Stamkos spoke of a curious twist regarding his streak more than 12 years ago. After scoring a goal and adding an assist in a loss in Toronto on March 11, 2010, Stamkos was held without a point the following night in Washington, ending his streak.

Tampa won in overtime after tying the game in the third period, sending the series back to Toronto. A 2-1 victory in Game 7 advanced the Lightning to the second round and sent the Leafs to another disappointment in a long line of early post-season exits.
