Renfrewshire residents are being urged to “get involved” as the council prepares a new local development plan for the area.

The plan – which will be the third of its kind for the local authority – will set out a long-term vision on how land is used over a ten-year period.

As part of the process there will be two separate surveys – one will focus on questions about public transport, how people move around, what there is to do and facilities and services, while a second will concentrate on any additional views, ideas, or proposals on specific places in Renfrewshire. “The plan will come into effect in 2027 and will set out how land is used in Renfrewshire over the next ten years.

The existing local development plan was approved by the council in December 2021. It sets out the spatial strategy and proposals for Renfrewshire.
