Residents say they would 'definitely' use gym at retail park

There are calls for a gym to be built in an empty unit at a Nottingham retail park. The former B&M shop at Lady Bay Retail Park shut in September 2022 with staff being relocated to other stores in the area.

The no-contract Pure Gym, which charges £12.99 a month, will be opening at the supermarket and people would now like to see a similar thing happen in Lady Bay. Gina Lee, 56 said: “I think a gym is a good idea, it promotes health and there are gyms in most areas now.”Gina, who is now retired and lives in West Bridgford, said: “I used to go to this B&M all the time and it’s a big store, spacious enough for a gym and I think a lot of people would use it.

Jamie, a sales assistant from The Meadows, added: “There’s always been a big thing on the government clamping down on obesity in the country, so invest or persuade companies to buy more empty units like this if they can.”
