About 30 residents at 16-unit condo building that was in mudslide’s path.

Campbell River condominium residents who were evacuated due to two landslides this past week are being allowed to return home.

However, an evacuation alert is in place for that building and neighbouring properties in case of more slides as rain continues to fall. Most people have been staying with family and friends while city staff and consultants examined the site and the structures for safety.Phil Zimmerman was walking next to 738 Island Highway South on Tuesday evening when the slide occurred about 50 feet away.
