Residents of a Richmond Hill townhouse complex have been displaced after a fire damaged up to 10 units early Monday morning, according to police.
York Regional Police said first responders were called to a townhouse fire near Carville Avenue and Plaisance Road around 1 a.m. Police said the fire started in one unit before spreading to others. The entire complex was evacuated and nobody was injured, police said. The fire spread to up to 10 of the complex’s 11 units, they continued.
First responders said they do not yet know the cause of the fire. The townhouse’s residents will not be able to return home until the Ontario fire martial investigates the fire’s origin.
