Passers-by and locals have spoken of their shock and sadness following the sudden death of a teenage girl.
She was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where, despite the best efforts of doctors, she was pronounced dead. Police have said her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.This afternoon in Wood Street and neighbouring roads passers-by shook their heads in sadness as they spoke of their shock at such a tragedy in a quiet residential area.
"You're right by a playground here, close to a school, there's always kids and youngsters playing out. This is a really nice part of town. It's such a shock."
