Several Scots residents fear for their pets' lives, after a devastating blaze tore through a residential building in the early hours of Sunday. Councillor Vicky Nicholson, who has been on the scene and helped to navigate the evacuation mission for local constituents, said that some animals are still in the flats of frightened residents who had to flee their homes.
Shocking images from the incident on March 24 showed ferocious flames engulfing the Edinburgh property as several fire engines were on site, with firefighters working tirelessly to control the inferno. It is understood the Scottish Fire Service remains on the scene and a cordon is still in place while damage is evaluated. Cllr Nicholson said the animals inside were of "high priority". Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Councillor Nicholson said: "I have been on site for a couple of hours this morning and met some local residents. Local people are understandably upset and have had a frightening experience.
