This isn’t to say that Democrats’ responses to the UAW strike have been ideal. One public statement of “support” by Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Virginia is genuinely amusing in its equivocation and feigned solidarity: For the last two years, we’ve passed bills to incentivize American manufacturing and bring supply chains home from places like China.
