Carbery, 40, joined the Maple Leafs in 2021 to run the team’s power play, which converted at an eye-popping 27.27 percent rate last season. Before moving to Toronto, Carbery spent three seasons as the head coach of the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears.Warsofsky, 34, has served as the head coach of the Wolves for the past two seasons, leading them to a Calder Cup victory over the Springfield Thunderbirds mere weeks ago.
The Sharks fired Boughner, 51, and three assistant coaches on July 1. After replacing Peter DeBoer as head coach midway through the 2019–20 season, the longtime NHL defenseman led the Sharks to a 67–85–23 record and zero playoff appearances in his three seasons against the bench.
