Following the departure of Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba, the club now need to bolster the midfield ahead of the new season.
Mirror Football have reported that the Red Devils are now planning to make a move for Eriksen, who spent the last sixth months regaining his match fitness after recovering from cardiac arrest. The 30-year-old midfielder is set to become a free agent at the end of the month, but has been offered a long-term contract by the Bees after an impressive six months.
However, the report adds that United are not the only side interested in the Serie A winner as his former side Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also keen. It is believed that Eriksen would not command a high wage, although reports in England claim United have already got £50million off the wage bill by releasing five players.
