According to Manchester-based journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the club has decided to hang on to the 26-year-old forward in this transfer window following his excellent pre-season form. Martial spent the second half of the past campaign on loan at Sevilla in LaLiga, but struggled to make an impression on Spanish tactician Julen Lopetegui before the club confirmed he would not be permanently signed.
