The Utah Jazz and New York Knicks have reportedly discussed a possible framework for a Donovan Mitchell trade
The Jazz have discussed Mitchell trades with other teams “but the Knicks have emerged as the focused destination over the past several days,” Charania and Jones write.Tuesday that the Jazz were “showing a willingness to listen” to trade offers for the all-star guard.to Minnesota for futures, and it’s believed Utah is looking for a similar style of return for Mitchell.
The Knicks currently have eight first-round picks available for trade, and are reportedly comfortable also including young players such as Quentin Grimes in a deal. The Jazz are said to be open to moving anyone on their roster as they try to cut salary for a full rebuild. Charania and Jones report that the Heat have also expressed interest in Mitchell, but add that Miami may need to incorporate a third team to acquire the assets the Jazz would want in return.
Mitchell, a three-time all-star, has averaged more than 20 points in all five of his seasons with the Jazz. Last year in 67 games he scored 25.9 points on 45 per cent shooting, with 5.3 assists and 4.2 rebounds.. New York missed the playoffs with a 37-45 record last season.
