😳 New reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo made a shock request to the Manchester United hierarchy regarding club captain Harry Maguire last season. SLInt MORE:
Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford has not been a pleasant one. After reportedly selling the project to the 37-year-old as one that would see United challenging for the biggest titles once he arrived, their reality was far from that of a successful team.
Before their catastrophic end to the campaign, the iconic striker seemingly did try to intervene, however, with details surrounding Ronaldo's demands as the team faltered in February having now emerged., the five-time Ballon d'Or winner made suggestions about changing the line-up and playing with two forwards up top, and stated that Edinson Cavani would be his ideal strike partner.
While Rangnick was present, club captain Maguire was not, and it was in this meeting that the Portugal star reportedly suggested demoting the England centre-back and taking the armband away from him.
