The Blues have been eager to add another centre-back to the squad after losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers at the end of last season.
Chelsea have already brought in Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibay from Napoli and Tuchel is now looking to add another defender after missing out Jules Kounde, who joined Barcelona earlier this month.have reported that Chelsea have now made an enquiry with the Red Devils about the England international's future, which has become uncertain in the last few months.
The report adds the Blues could United States international winger Christian Pulisic as part of a deal to get Maguire to Stamford Bridge. Reports surfaced in England this week claiming Pulisic has emerged as a possible target for Erik ten Hag, who is looking to bolster his squad before the transfer window closes.
However, the Daily Mail reported the Blues' main target remains Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, who reportedly asked to be left out of the squad to face Southampton on Saturday.
