Rep. Jake LaTurner, R-Kan., told Newsmax on Wednesday it is "right and proper" that the next step in the House Oversight Committee's probe of President Joe Biden's potential abuse of public office is criminal referrals.

When pressed about whether those criminal referrals would include Joe Biden, LaTurner said, "Criminal referrals for multiple people." The Oversight Committee is slated to hold a hearing Wednesday morning on the president's alleged influence peddling scheme and hear from two former business associates of Hunter Biden's, Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.

"I suspect that he will be too much of a coward to do that," he said. "But, as you said in the opening, we need to remind the American people, this is exactly what he asked for was a public hearing so he could address the concerns of the committee.
