Just in time for the start of April, a UK travel website has named one beach on a remote Scottish island as the 'best' in the country — and its views need to be seen to be believed.
Now that April has finally started and the clocks have gone forward, people across Scotland and beyond will be looking to make the most of the longer and brighter days. While temperatures may have dipped a little recently, there is still nothing quite like a trip to the beach.
Around three miles in length, the breathtaking beach runs the entire length of the Outer Hebrides island that is situated between Harris and the Uists. Thanks to its unique and remote location, it offers incredible views out across to the rugged mountains of Harris.View gallery West Beach is also an ideal destination for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet this April. At any given time, you are likely to be the only person around aside from the odd local.
Instagram Writing on its Instagram account, UK Hidden Gems said: "We’ve just witnessed footage of the best beach in Scotland... Have you seen a better looking beach?"
