During 2020, the first year of the pandemic, Carlos Leos sat alone on a Broadway sidewalk, taking photos and videos of him acting as if the major Fiesta parade, which sees part of its route along Broadway, was still happening. Leos said in 2020 that he was hoping to bring joy to others, and that he felt"connected" to others who also missed the annual festival that year.
