The fresh-faced Nissan Magnite has made its debut, with the revised version of Nissan’s popular compact crossover/SUV sporting several, though subtle, cosmetic upgrades.According to the Japanese automaker, the refreshed Magnite 'exemplifies' the 'Magnite-ness' associated with the crossover/SUV, with the mid-life-cycle facelift enhancing the car’s on-road presence with its 'tougher, bolder and more robust' exterior design updates.
The most notable design update comes in the shape of a redesigned front grille. The now-larger item, which is sited above a new 'floating' fore skid plate, is flanked by tapered headlamp clusters, which house LED lighting units, replete with “'ightsaber-style' indicators. ‘Round back, the LED taillamps feature a three-dimensional-gradient honeycomb pattern. L-shaped daytime-running lights are also present.
As a reminder, locally, the current Magnite model range, which is priced from R240 000, is available with the choice of two petrol engine options and a trio of transmissions. Starting with the former, the powertrain line-up includes a 1l, naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit and a 1l turbocharged engine with the same number of cylinders. The atmospheric three-pot produces 53kW and 96N.m of torque, while the turbo-triple-equipped Magnite models are endowed with 74kW and 160N.m.
The naturally aspirated engine is available with a five-speed manual cog swapper or the firm’s EZ-Shift automated manual transmission. The turbocharged derivatives can be had with a five-speed manual gearbox or Nissan’s X-tronic continuously variable transmission. The post Refreshed Nissan Magnite Breaks Cover appeared first on CAR Magazine.
