CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz called his performance in Friday night's 7-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels "electric." It can also be called historic. EDLC hit a three-run homer at Great American Ball Park and manufactured another run with two outs in the second inning when the 22-year-old singled, stole second and third and scored on the errant throw to third by Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe.He added another stolen base in the fourth inning., EDLC became the youngest player in MLB history to steal 3+ bases and hit a 3+ run HR in the same game .
He also became the fifth Reds player since 1901 -- and the youngest -- to homer and steal 3 bases in a game. The others were Pete Rose, Dave Concepcion, Reggie Taylor and Jake Fraley.Stay Connected
