A year after he last played, Jeremiah Masoli will return as the Ottawa Redblacks\u0027 starting QB Saturday vs. the Hamilton Tiger\u002DCats.
Injured in the Redblacks’ fourth game of the season, a 28-13 loss in Saskatchewan, the 34-year-old quarterback — the East Division’s Most Outstanding Player in 2018 — struggled with the aftermath of a fracture in his leg, including an infection and complications following the surgery.
Before his most recent injury, resulting from a cheap-shot low hit by Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman Garrett Marino, Masoli, who missed much of the 2019 season with a torn ACL, had 84 completions for 1,083 yards . The Redblacks went on to win just four games all season, and head coach Paul LaPolice was fired with four games remaining.Article content
