This was the second round of the South African Rally-Raid Championship held in northern KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend of May 24 and 25. The team achieved impressive results with three cars in the top ten and a clean sweep of the top four positions in the T1 Adventure class.
In a challenging race marked by attrition, four Red-Lined factory cars finished. Chris Visser and Albertus Venter secured an impressive fifth overall, making them the best of the non-major manufacturer teams in only the second national outing of the all-new Red-Lined REVO T1+ GT-R. Dutch driver Rients Hofstra and local co-driver Wade Harris finished ninth overall in another debuting REVO T1+ GT-R.
The Red-Lined team dominated the T1 Adventure class, with Rudi and Gerhard Heinlein’s Sirkel N VK56 finishing second, Philip Botha and Gerhard Schutte’s Penta Motor Group VK56 third, and Daniel Schroder and Ryan Bland’s PS Laser VK50 securing fourth place. Additionally, amateur crew Dave Klaassen and Tessa Rooth followed in their DaklaPack Rallysport REVO T1+ GT-R.
'Vryheid paid great dividends for all our team efforts over the past months with three cars in the top ten and another dominant showing in the FIA T1 Adventure class,” said Red-Lined team principal, Terence Marsh. “We are quietly thrilled with our all-new REVO+ GT-R’s reliability and performance potential. Vryheid certainly highlighted that promise, making it a good outing.
