UTSA rarely found smooth sailing Saturday against Texas Southern, but record-setting performances from Harris and wide receiver De’Corian Clark helped the Roadrunners pull away down the stretch, notching a 52-24 win in their nonconference finale. Coach Jeff Traylor said returning to the Alamodome rekindled memories of UTSA’s season-opening 37-35 loss to Houston in triple overtime, and after the Roadrunners’ first-half performance, Traylor said he “thought I was going to get that bittersweet feeling again.”
Harris said he felt the Roadrunners were “thinking a little too much” before returning to form in the second half.
