Recibe condena de 35 años en prisión por matar a su esposa poco después de que ella pidiera el divorcio

Julia Serrano, de 29 años y madre de sus dos hijos, huyó de la casa tras una discusión. Su marido Fernando Avila la siguió con una escopeta.

En la audiencia preliminar de Ávila, una vecina que vivía cerca de la pareja en 46th Street testificó que ella y su esposo se despertaron alrededor de las 5:30 a.m. por una fuerte discusión.

Avila disparó entonces a Serrano una vez fuera de su casa. La policía dice que encontró un cartucho de escopeta gastado y sangre en el lateral del vehículo de la pareja, que estaba estacionado en la calle justo fuera de la residencia.
