Kota Kinabalu: The interest in science among students has declined to 40 per cent in 2022 from 66.7 per cent in 2019.
Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup said there are several main reasons for the low enrolment of students in the science stream.“Students are more interested in non-science fields,” he said at the launching of the Sabah National Science Week 2023 at Universiti Malaysia Sabah , here, Thursday. It was officiated by State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif who represented the Chief Minister.
