Two boys playing in a creek on spring break last year founded a handgun that has been forensically linked to the 2008 shooting of Dennis Karbovanec. Bacon is alleged to have ordered a Dec. 31, 2008 hit on former associate Dennis Karbovanec, who survived with minor injuries. His dad sat nearby him in courtroom 20 at the Vancouver Law Courts as Youth 1 recalled seeing the gun and stepping on a log, then a rock to get closer to it. The dad used two sticks to pick the firearm up again and place it on a stump slightly up the creek embankment, Youth 1 testified.
And he identified the tree where he and his friend locked up their bikes after riding down the pathway to the creek.
