Former Everton and England star Wayne Rooney has taken over at Championship side Plymouth Argyle but his wife and family will reportedly not be joining him down south
Coleen Rooney decided against leaving her family home in Cheshire and moving to Plymouth with husband Wayne in a bid to 'help their marriage', according to a source. Championship side Plymouth Argyle announced in May that they had appointed former England captain Wayne Rooney as their new head coach, succeeding Ian Foster. However, in an interview with the Mail on Sunday this month, the former Everton star revealed that Coleen would not be joining him in the south west.
'When either one of them is unhappy with the living arrangement, they bicker and their marriage suffers, so this is the best scenario for both of them.' Coleen will be used to her husband leaving the family home for work as he moved to Washington in July 2022 to take charge of DC United, after joining the club as a player in 2018. However, Coleen has never been a fan of the US capital as shown in texts sent to Rebekah Vardy in 2018, revealed during the Wagatha Christie feud .
