Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a massive €250 million (R5 billion) alternative plan should they fail to sign long-term target Kylian Mbappe.
Los Blancos are understood to have not closed the door on the possibility of signing the 24-year-old superstar, despite having failed to convince him to make the move in recent seasons. The Spanish giants were recently given hope that they may finally get their man when the Frenchman was involved in a public stand-off with Paris Saint-Germain over a proposed contract extension during the off-season.
However, Les Parisiens and the player seem to have mended their relationship to some degree since, with the pacy forward having since been reinstated to the first team after being excluded from pre-season preparations due to his refusal to trigger the one-year extension included in his current deal. With Mbappe and the reigning Ligue 1 champions said to still be in negotiations over a new contract, Real are now preparing an alternative solution should he indeed extend his stay at the Parc des Princes.the Madrid giants are planning to allocate a whopping €250 million to carry out the signings of Manchester City talisman Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies should a move for Mbappe fall apart.
It is said that Real had initially allocated the €250 million for Mbappe, but will spend that money on Haaland and Davies if their initial plan doesn't go accordingly. Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti is also reported to have asked the club to sign Harry Kane at the beginning of this transfer window, but was informed by his superiors that it was"Mbappe or nothing".
