A Real Madrid legend has insisted that FC Barcelona were on the receiving end of an"unforgivable mistake" from the match official in their 1-0 loss to Inter Milan earlier this week.
The Catalan giants suffered a narrow defeat to Simone Inzaghi's side on Tuesday night, but the major talking point after the game was the controversial refereeing decisions that took place in the tie. Barca's footballers and coaching staff were left furious with Slovenian match official Slavko Vincic after he disallowed a Pedri goal for a handball by Ansu Fati in the build-up to the strike.
More controversy followed as the match approached its end when a Barcelona penalty appeal was eventually waved away upon a VAR review that took several minutes, despite Nerazzurri defender Denzel Dumfries appearing to have handled the ball in the box, with the referee not being asked to have a look at the incident on the field-side monitor.
The Blaugrana have now found some support from a surprising source in former Los Blancos midfielder Guti, who is adamant the refereeing team made a huge error with the penalty non-call. "It is an unforgivable mistake because you are seeing it in the VAR, and they are passing you the replays 50 times. "I don't care if it's Barcelona or Real Madrid."
