It is believed that when the Reaction officer stepped out of his vehicle to purchase goods from a local shop two suspects came from behind and began assaulting the officer, striking him multiple times with the firearm to the back of the head. The Reaction officer was disarmed and had his belongings stolen. The suspects began shooting freely as they fled towards community members and children who were walking on the roadway.
