Investigators believe the two individuals could have crucial information to help advance their investigation.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are asking the public’s help identifying two persons of interest in a sexual assault investigation.
RCMP responded to a call in the 200-block of Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan on May 16 just before 7 p.m., after a woman reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man. She had been walking on a trail between McAdam Park and Tzouhalem-Trunk roads.An immediate search of the area failed to locate any suspects.The first person of interest helped the victim get to a Co-op gas station where she was able to call for help. He is described as a man wearing a black T-shirt and grey shorts.
The second person of interest is described as wearing a blue tank top and black shorts. He appeared to be in the area before the victim was able to get help. “Every investigation is unique and we must take considerable care to gather evidence, work with victims and then provide accurate and current information to the public,” RCMP Insp. Chris Bear said in a statement.
