The Browns run defense was exposed during Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson crosses the goal line on a keeper for a touchdown in the first half, October 1, 2023, at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
But the surprising part wasn’t the throws by Jackson. Instead, it was the Browns’ run defense becoming non-existent. The Ravens totaled 131 yards on 33 carries and eight rushing first downs. Gus Edwards started the drive with 10 rushing yards on consecutive runs. After Mark Andrews’ 36-yard reception, Justice Hill had his turn, going 22 yards on consecutive runs. Melvin Gordon III came through with a 22-yard run the very next play, which placed the Ravens 3 yards away from the end zone. A couple plays later, Jackson capped it off with his second rushing touchdown of the game.
