According to the latest crime statistics, it has been a dismal first three months of the year for women and children in South Africa with 10 818 people raped, representing 1 300 more cases reported in the same period last year.
This was revealed by Police Minister Bheki Cele, who admitted the fourth quarter crime statistics for 2021/2022 were especially “brutal for women and children”.
