Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh has emotionally reflected on her journey to success, revealing she was once reduced to tears in a park after being axed from her ITV job
She’s best known to many of us as a cheerful presenter on Good Morning Britain, but Ranvir Singh’s journey to widespread success has been far from easy, with the star now revealing that she was once reduced to tears in a park alongside her toddler son after her job at ITV was axed.
"I had a very secure job with the BBC, a job with a pension and everything,” she explained. "I got headhunted to go to ITV. So I give up this whole secure life at the BBC and my friends and my life in Manchester to move to London, essentially, for a contract. After making the move, things initially got off to a great start, with the newsreader enjoying every minute of her time on the job for the first 15 months, however things soon took a turn for the worst, when the programme she was working on underwent a whole rebrand, meaning her job no longer existed.
It was while sobbing in the park that she received a lifeline from industry heavyweight John Stapleton. "He told me not complain, carry on turning up and to do my job,” she explained. And this is exactly what Ranvir did as she refused to accept this was the end of her career.
